A HISTORY

Nicolini's opened its doors in September 1997. Its founder, Raffaele Abbate began his career in food at the age of 17 years old making and selling pasta in Napoli. Raffaele owned several restaurants after moving to Wellington in 1989 including Bellissimo and Aroma Cafe and finally culminating in the Nicolini's of today. It remains Nicolini's mission to bring age old Napolitan recipes to the local community.  We use fresh local produce and also import a large amount of speciality foods to maintain the authenticity of the recipes which have been passed from generation to generation. We have an extensive wine selection covering many regions throughout Italy as well as locally sourced New Zealand and Australian wines. Nicolini's menu also boasts options for vegetarians and those who are gluten intolerant.
